A person was taken to a major trauma centre after a collision in Richmond yesterday.

The A316 between Richmond and St Margarets was closed for around five hours from 4.30pm.

Police said that a woman in her 50s suffered serious injuries.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 4.33pm yesterday (March 30) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a cyclist on Twickenham Road, Richmond.

"We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, an incident response officer and a hazardous area response team. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

"A person was treated at the scene and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority."

Witness appeal

An appeal for witnesses to the collision was quickly issued by Richmond Police last night.

Anyone who saw what happened is urged to call the force on 101 quoting reference CAD5393/30Mar21.
