Magical Musical Stories will be a wonderful event. It will feature two shows starting at 2.30pm and 4pm respectively, as a double- bill for children and families at St Mary's Church Barnes on 17th May.

There will be a performance of Peter and the Wolf – The Oscar-winning animation film directed by Susie Templeton of Sergei Prokofiev's immortal story and music performed by the concert-pianist Parvis Hejazi.

This will then be followed by Zal and the Phoenix – An adaptation of Ferdowsi's 1000-year-old Tale. It will be Narrated by Tony Palmer, the celebrated film director and illustrated by Annabel Sebag-Montefiore and Cristina Martin, projected on screen to an original soundtrack of Persian music by Adib & Mehdi Rostami.

We will be using children from the local community to help narrate Zal and the Phoenix.
