Following what can only be described as a chaotic A-level results day, I have written to the Education Secretary Gavin Williamson MP to challenge the unfair process the government used to decide on students' grades in the absence of summer exams.
Many young people across the borough have been affected by unfair downgrading by Ofqual which has damaged their university study opportunities and therefore their long term prospects.
Richmond Park MP Sarah Olney has joined Age UK Richmond as a patron.
The charity said it is thrilled to have her on board and advocating the needs of older people in the town.
Thunderstorms are a possibility in Richmond over the next four days.
The Met Office has issued four consecutive warnings running until Monday (August 17) at 9pm.

Richmond Council said it will support any student who wants to challenge their A-level grades as it criticised the government for a "failed" grading system.
Initial feedback shows that a disproportionate number of the A-level grades awarded in Richmond are unfair due to the process, the council said.

Proposed government changes to planning law are undemocratic and "deeply concerning", according to Richmond Council.
They would "put so much emphasis on the need to build that local people's voice on planning matters would be very limited", the authority said.
