Policy Caseworker - £ IPSA Pay Scale
Twickenham MP Munira Wilson is seeking a full-time Policy Caseworker, who is a self-starter and motivated team player, to join her team.

Responsibilities include:
- Draft responses to constituents reflecting Munira's views on a wide range of issues and the actions she has taken
- Deal with large numbers of standard campaign emails and more complex individual enquiries. Ongoing communication may be required.
- Undertake research using a variety of sources to inform policy responses, including liaison with parliamentary policy advisors and the House of Commons Library
- Assist with policy surgery appointments and other meetings, follow up as appropriate
- Log all cases; monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
- Analyse patterns of enquiries and share the findings in regular meetings with Munira and other staff members
- Work closely with Munira's Westminster team to ensure, where possible, she is able to reflect constituents' concerns in Parliament
- Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially and accurately in accordance with the MP and in line with the Data Protection Act
- Provide cover for the Correspondence Officer during peak periods or staff leave
Skills required:
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft letters and emails with empathy and to a high professional standard
- Outstanding administrative skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to deal with and prioritise a large and varied caseload, and to work under pressure
- Ability to manage expectations of constituents in sometimes challenging circumstances
- Good IT skills including using a casework management system and MS Office applications
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Motivated to work independently and comfortable doing so, as well as able to work effectively as part of a small and disparate team
- Willing to develop an understanding of parliamentary processes and how these can be used to champion constituents' concerns
- Sympathetic to the aims, values and policies of the Liberal Democrats
