Catherine Ellis, founder of Hill & Ellis cycle bags, has family connections to Richmond - albeit a couple of hundred years back. Her great, great, great, great uncle was Joseph Ellis who owned the Star & Garter Hotel at the top of Richmond Hill from 1822. It is now a fancy apartment complex, but at the time it was a different building entirely and over Joseph's ownership went from a modest inn to a grand hotel.

The council has begun the process of evicting a group of Travellers with 21 caravans who arrived on Kew Green last night, Wednesday August 2.
Council officers visited to carry out a site assessment and requested that they move on, and reported that the group was not willing to leave or complete a welfare assessment.

E-scooter provider TIER is running safety sessions and offering free trial rides this Thursday in Richmond centre to mark the launch of their e-scooters in the borough.
TIER is one of the chosen operators taking part in London's e-scooter trial alongside Dott and Lime. This is currently the only legal way of riding e-scooters in public places in London.
