Richmond is set for two weeks of sunshine.

The hottest days of the next fortnight are today (Monday, September 14) and tomorrow with temperatures reaching 28-29C.

Tomorrow will be a hot night too with a low temperature of 16C.

Near wall-to-wall sunshine has been forecast this week until Friday, with sunny intervals predicted all the way until Sunday, September 27.

Met Office chief meteorologist Frank Saunders said: "High pressure in combination with warm, southerly winds will bring a spell of summery weather across parts of the UK early this week, with plenty of sunshine and higher than average temperatures for most."

Record breaking warmth

It will be the longest September warm spell in the UK in four years, when temperatures reached 34.3 Celsius at Gravesend on September 13 2016.

The current highest September temperature on record is 35.6C, reached on September 2 1906 at Bawtry, South Yorkshire.
