My London based Local Government client is looking to recruit a permanent Senior Accountant to join the Finance Team in the Adult Social Care directorate.This permanent position will be perfect for a candidate who is either a part qualified accountant or studying towards an accounting qualification with experience of working in a business partnering or a management accounting role in a complex environment.

As the Senior Accountant you will play a pivotal role in the teams transformation programme, which aims to restore services and transform adult social care services, creating efficient and sustainable change that improves outcomes for our residents.

Day to day your role will include:

  • Providing support to the Directorate Management Team and Budget Holders on all financial matters including budgets, efficiency programmes, value for money and management reporting.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager and Assistant Director of Finance to deliver the Directorates objectives of promoting independence, choice, health and wellbeing of the local populations through strengths-based approaches
  • You will support the development and delivery of excellent finance services within the Adult Social Care team, ensuring the best use of limited financial resources, providing the insight and support needed to manage and monitor complex demand led budgets
  • To prepare revenue and capital monthly/quarterly/annual management accounts for a specific number of service areas as allocated.

To be considered for the role you will be part qualified accountant and actively studying as well as have experience in Local Government finance. You will also need to be able to demonstrate the ability to gather, analyse and present complex financial data and information from a range of sources to a varied audience.

This is a permanent role with a requirement to be in the office 2 days a week. The salary on offer is circa 40,000 to 55,000.
