Springtime walk around Leg O' Mutton Reservoir
Leg o' Mutton Reservoir, Barnes SW13
UNTIL Thursday 3rd March
Join Veronica Schroter, local resident and Leg o'Mutton committee member on a springtime stroll around Leg o' Mutton Reservoir.
Built in 1838, the Leg o' Mutton Reservoir supplied water until its decommission in 1960. Today, measuring just 800 x 100m (8.2ha), this linear site offers shelter and haven to a wealth of birds and other wildlife.Early spring is a lovely time to explore the reservoir, looking for those early signs of spring, listening for bird song and if we are lucky we may see some early prunus flowering.
Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear. We will meet at the notice board in the Swedish School at the Ferry Lane entrance off Lonsdale Road.
This is a free event, however booking is ancouraged to avoid disappointment:https://barnescommon.org.uk/events/springtime-walk-around-leg-o-mutton-reservoir/?occurrence=2022-03-03
