Live Music, Stunning Setting ……. and Supper
Following the sell-out of previous Musical Roots events, we are organising another exclusive night of blues, jazz, boogie-woogie and ragtime performed by a team of outstanding musicians – with the ever-charismatic Dana Gillespie topping the bill.
The evening will kick off with welcome drinks at Pembroke Lodge's Belvedere Terrace with its sweeping views over the Thames Valley to Windsor. This will be followed by almost two hours of thrilling live music, with the sequence of performances starting and ending with a bang.
There will also be an interval where you can enjoy an excellent buffet supper with wine. Richmond Park's main gate will be kept open later than usual specifically for this event.
World Class Performers
The star performer and host will be the multi-talented Dana Gillespie, the first ever Mary Magdalene in the London stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Dana has worked with David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger, to name a few, and has an incredible 73 albums behind her.
She will perform a riveting repertoire of songs focusing on her raunchy blues style. Over the years her mesmerising voice, stage presence and great humour have thrilled audiences around the world. To experience this in the flesh is an opportunity not to be missed.
Dana will be joined by a team of other outstanding singers and musicians:
Dino Baptiste is a blues pianist and vocalist extraordinaire with a highly infectious personality. Dino has worked with many established musicians such as Jeff Beck and John Paul Jones, but more importantly alongside his perfect musical match, Dana Gillespie, for over twenty years.
Graham Pike Trio perform with a unique blend of instruments ranging from the iconic chromatic harmonica to the flugelhorn and trombone. Their compelling music transgresses numerous styles ranging from jazz to traditional folk and blues.
Tyger Tyger is a seasoned trio of good-time jazz veterans with a repertoire ranging from the thirties to the sixties. A double-bass, two guitars, three voices and lots of laughter just about sums them up.
