Join us as we discuss all things regarding polymath, writer and philosopher Edward De Bono!
In her new book Edward de Bono: Love Laterally, author Sarah Tucker explores de Bono's life and his thinking techniques which transformed the minds of schools, corporations, and leaders in crisis. The biography includes contributions from de Bono's former wife, Josephine de Bono, Sir Tony Blair and many others who knew de Bono – plus rare photographs from his family.
Sarah will discuss the book, de Bono's lateral thinking tools in relation to business innovation, and her initiative for Thinking Classes in schools in conversation with Vania Georgeson, former Headteacher.
About Edward de Bono:
Edward de Bono, polymath, writer, and philosopher, spent his life showing people how to use their brains creatively, to disrupt traditional ideas and ways of doing things. He mixed socially with powerful people, but he never stopped challenging their limited beliefs. About Sarah Tucker:
Sarah Tucker is the best-selling author of seven novels, seven children's books and seven books on wellbeing and mental health for adults, young adults and children. She is Ambassador to various 'forward think' organisations including Homerton Cambridge Changemaker Ambassador, Academic lead of British Guild of Travel Writers, producing and presenting travel writing workshops as part of the national curriculum to Year 8s and Sixth formers, to integrate lateral thinking into the school curriculum.
Sarah is a Lecturer at Cambridge University, Hawkwood Centre and Bath Spa University on the use of lateral thinking and humour, the concept of curiosity, lateral thinking and media, lateral thinking and mental health. She is also a former BBC presenter TV and radio. Experienced and award-winning broadcast journalist, devising, presenting and producing award winning documentaries for the Discovery Channel, ITV and BBC, and written for all major national and international news and women's consumer titles, including National Geographic (columnist) and Time magazine. Currently columnist for Green Traveller, the Arrbuturian. As well as her writing and teaching, Sarah is a qualified instructor of yoga and meditation to year 9 and teachers in SW London and Surrey since 2013.
About Vania Georgeson:
Vania Georgeson has worked in education across the state and independent sectors for nearly 40 years. She successfully led an independent primary school in SW London for 14 years and is a holistic educator - always encouraging children towards greater confidence, kindness and authenticity. She has a masters from The Globe Theatre in Creativity in Education and also enjoyed a stint as an editor in publishing until she found the late lunches and Soho hours incompatible with bringing up two small children.
