Richmond restaurant opens new riverside site in Antipodean-esque sunshine

By The Editor 9th Jul 2021

An Australian restaurant in Richmond opened up its new site in Strawberry Hill yesterday in the sorts of sunshine you might expect to feel in the Antipodes.

Antipodea's new all-day brunch venue sits in the old Radnor Gardens café site - you can read our full Up Close With interview here.

The café has been transformed into a beautiful open-air restaurant with plenty of tables, benches outside, and bees buzzing around flowers in planters on the roof and walls.

In true Melbornian style, the sun waxed and waned but not enough to deter residents from popping down to the new restaurant, which sells everything from croissants to eggs and NZ coffee.

Local resident Eleanor told Nub News: "I love the design of the cafe with it's outside benches and transparent walls, you feel close to nature.

"Plus it's so convenient for walks around the lovely Radnor gardens - I'm sure I'll be back!"
