Take a look inside Richmond's new private members' club.

The Richmond Club is opening on Monday (December 7) on Kew Road in the space of the former pub, The Hope.

We were given a tour around it - click through the carousel at the top of this story to see all 10 photos.

Applications for membership are open, with a daytime-only option (10am-6pm); full and corporate membership and a discount for the under 27s.

More than 100 members have already been signed up and tours of the club are being held this weekend.

When the membership is full, applications will be closed and new people will be able to join by referral only.

Club owners are particularly proud of their food and drinks menus.

They hired sommeliers and cocktail masters to draw up their list of wine and cocktails. They plan to add more cocktails which will be named by their members.

Head chef Dan will serve up small plate classics "that will leave you wanting to tick off the whole list".

There will be lunch and dinner menus and "bountiful brunches" available at the weekend.

Members will be given a card which they will scan to enter and a natural air purification system designed to kill 99% of bacteria in the air and on surfaces has been installed.

The club aims to "offer an escape from the shackles of your day to day".

"Whether you're meeting friends, entertaining colleagues or business partners, or looking for somewhere to reinvigorate your creativity working from home, we can provide a relaxing space to enjoy the best in food and drink, and our outstanding service," The Richmond Club website reads.

"The building's high ceilings and traditional features have been transformed by a team of internationally acclaimed designers, led by Sally Anne McCoy, of Edwards McCoy.

"With touches of glamour enhancing the pub's character and heritage, The Richmond Club epitomises unique style, from its sophisticated interior to its heated outside patio, festooned with lights and luxuriant plants.

"The design lays the foundation for the creation of a perfect atmosphere to enjoy a sip of one of our carefully curated cocktails or indulge in our choice selection of whiskies and fine wine."
