A new private members' club is coming to Richmond.

The Richmond Club will be situated in Kew Road on the site of the former Hope pub.

It was due to open on Wednesday, November 18 but, because of the lockdown, is now aiming for a December launch.

Applications are now open for members which includes a daytime-only option (10am-6pm); full and corporate membership options and a discount for the under 27s.

In their own words

The building has been transformed into a stunning oasis in which to escape from the confines from working from home; meet with family or 'bubble buddies' or to network with new business colleagues.

With a design created by award-winning designers Edwards McCoy, owner Sally Anne McCoy has transformed the building by adding touches of glamour combined with traditional features creating a unique style enhancing and preserving the character of the venue.

The heated outside area provides a patio festooned with lights and plants, perfect to sip cocktails or indulge in a classic cocktail, whisky or fine wine.

Luxurious and decadent, the rich oxblood booth seating, chic sofas and crystal lighting is balanced by a moody grey wall bedecked with interesting art. To the first floor, the adaptable space will accommodate daytime creatives, diners, as well as being available for private hire. McCoy's designs are famous across the capital and beyond, boasting accolades such as Vogue's most Instagram-able bathroom for her contribution to Restaurant Ours, transforming the space with floor to ceiling palm trees and baby pink tiles.

The menu is to die for, created by Head Chef Dan. The dishes celebrate the very best of classics with a twist, offering an array of small plates that will leave you wanting to tick off the whole list. Lunch and dinner will be served daily with bountiful brunches available at the weekend.

The venue is also the first to install the ground-breaking, virus killing, air purification system, Clenzair, that makes being inside as safe as being outside. The system neutralises 99% of viruses and bacteria in the air and on all surfaces, creating a continuously, safe and sanitised environment 24/7. No harmful chemicals are used as the process produces hydroperoxides – otherwise known as Mother Nature's enviro-friendly cleaning agent, that makes the air smell as fresh and as clean as after a thunderstorm.

Club manager Angus Gray said: "We are incredibly excited to open the doors to showcase The Richmond Club and welcome our new members. At a time when hospitality is facing many challenges it is refreshing to bring something different to the local hospitality scene.

"Whether you're meeting friends, entertaining colleagues or business partners, or looking for somewhere to reinvigorate your creativity working from home, we can provide a relaxing space to enjoy the best in food and drink, and our outstanding service.

"We will also be launching an exciting programme of events for our members very soon."

The Richmond Club will be open from 10am-10pm, under current government restrictions until it's possible to resume permitted licensing hours.

Various membership options are available, including a limited number of day passes; daytime membership (10am-6pm); full annual and corporate membership.
