The Richmond Gymnastics Association (RGA) is celebrating a landmark achievement as its Senior Men's Acrobatic Group has officially been selected to represent Great Britain at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China.

Taking place from 7 to 17 August 2025, The World Games are recognised as the most prestigious multi-sport event outside the Olympics, showcasing elite disciplines not included in the Olympic programme.

This year, the Games will welcome over 4,000 athletes from more than 100 nations, competing across 253 medal events during the 11-day international competition.

Richmond's acrobatic stars Rex Booth, Louis Alexander, Freddie Turner and Samuel Ditchburn earned their place on Team GB following a series of exceptional performances, including a podium finish at the Acrobatic European Championships earlier this year and their recent triumph as 2025 British Champions.

"Following standout performances at the recent Acrobatic European Championships, the Men's Group will represent Great Britain with strength and style in Chengdu," said a spokesperson for British Gymnastics.

The group is set to perform three high-level routines during the Games, including their widely acclaimed "Spiderman" routine, a crowd favourite that has wowed audiences across Europe.

This news coincides with a major milestone for RGA, which is marking its 65th anniversary this year, celebrating decades of developing talent and dedication to gymnastics in the Richmond community.

"We are immensely proud of Louis, Freddie, Rex and Samuel," said Melanie Sanders, Head of Acrobatics at Richmond Gymnastics.

"Their unwavering commitment, teamwork and exceptional performances have earned them this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent Great Britain on the world stage. We couldn't be more excited for them."

Richmond's Men's Group will take to the competition floor on Sunday, 10 August, with live coverage and updates available via the club's social media channels @gymnasticsrga.
