Richmond gymnasts win silver and bronze at European Championships

Richmond's gymnasts enjoyed a successful Acrobatic European Championships in Luxembourg, representing Great Britain and bringing home silver and bronze medals.

In a first for the club, three partnerships from Richmond Gymnastics Association (RGA) represented Great Britain at Senior level. 

The 2025 Senior European All Round Silver medallists are RGA's Senior Men's Group, Louis Alexander (19), Freddie Turner (20), Rex Booth (19) and Samuel Ditchburn (18).

The Men's Group also secured a bronze medal in the Dynamic routine final, impressing the audience with their high energy skills and upbeat performance.

They showcased exceptional energy in every routine, blending flair and personality with remarkable technical precision.

RGA's Head of Acrobatics, Melanie Sanders commented: "We are immensely proud of all our gymnasts at the 2025 European Acrobatic Championships.

"Their commitment and dedication is exceptional and we are delighted with their performances in Luxembourg, with bronze and silver medals being an added bonus!"

RGA's Women's Group Michaela Cook, Amber Harvey and Chiara Linden dazzled on the competition floor with beautiful, confident routines and high-difficulty, securing them a fantastic 8th place in the Balance routine final.

It was the first time competing at Senior level for RGA's Senior Mixed Pair Toby Cooper-Driver (18) and Leela Were-Ramini (14).

They looked amazing on floor with elegant routines and successful high-power skills, placing 5th in the Dynamic routine finals and a brilliant 8th in the All Round Final.

In the 12-18 Age Group Championships, Christoph and Louisa performed beautifully with their poise and expressive routines, coming 5th in Europe. 

Melanie added: "In addition to their achievements, these gymnasts have become role models at the club, inspiring the next generation to pursue their dreams with the same passion and resilience.

"Their accomplishments not only showcase their individual talents but also reflect the strength and unity of our team.

"The European Championships have been a testament to their perseverance and the incredible support system surrounding them."
