Richmond Theatre

Sunday, June 18 - Pigs Might Fly

Based on the book by best-selling author Michael Morpurgo, Pigs Might Fly is the perfect summer treat for all the family.

This bold and energetic new musical follows the air-raising adventures of Pintsize, the youngest and most daring piglet on Mudpuddle Farm.

Pintsize loves nothing more than playing with his next-farm-neighbour and best friend Diana the sheep, but one day Pintsize wakes up to discover a tall fence built between their two farms. Devastated by the loss of playtime with his best pal and the fact that pigs can't jump over fences, Pintsize resolves that he will figure out how to fly over it instead.

Can his determination and ingenuity defy the laws of physics? Will crotchety Farmer Rafferty finally make peace with his neighbour, Farmer Brightwell? Can Albertine the clever goose keep Pintsize from hurting himself as he tries to fly?

An hilarious musical tragedy of political intrigue, religion, power, and romance; this rip-roaring new musical by Harry Hill and Steve Brown received critical acclaim following a sold-out run at the Park Theatre in London.

The story of how one man went from peace-loving, long-haired hippy and would-be pop star to warmongering multimillionaire in just a couple of decades. Throw in a stellar cast of larger-than-life characters - Cherie Blair, Princess Diana, John Prescott, Peter Mandelson, Alastair Campbell, Osama bin Laden, George W Bush, Saddam Hussein and Gordon Brown – it's Yes, Minister meets The Rocky Horror Show! and a musical like no other.

Thirty years later, love's young dream has descended into non-stop squabbling.

Meanwhile, Clive and Lady Kitty's son Arnold (Pete Ashmore) faces the same marital fate, as his wife Elizabeth (Olivia Vinall) threatens to elope with the dashing Teddie Luton (Chirag Benedict Lobo).
