Crews for TV show starring Nicholas Hoult set up in Richmond Park

Filming for two television series are taking place in Richmond Park.

The stunning botanical gardens Isabella Plantation, inside the park from Ham Gate, are partially closed today (Tuesday, March 23).

At the same time, a car park is shut today for apparent filming of a Marvel Comics-based series.

The Great

The show being produced in Isabella Plantation is The Great starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult.

Its synopsis on IMDB reads: "A royal woman living in rural Russia during the 18th century is forced to choose between her own personal happiness and the future of Russia, when she marries an Emperor."

There are five entrances to the plantation, but the one at High Wood Gate is for crews only today.

Richmond Nub News understands they were getting set up yesterday, with filming to take place today.

Among the props was a stretched out plastic tube which was oozing smoke.

Superheroes?

The nearby Broomfield Hill car park is closed or partially closed until Thursday for filming, with WandaVision, a series based on Marvel characters, rumoured to be the programme.

"Elizabeth Olsen has said she is filming in Richmond, London. Apparently cast members are doing interviews in Richmond Park #WandaVision," DrDoomha tweeted.

"Cast seem to be walking about town or the park when not filming. They were filming in London last week at the RIBA building apparently. And this is fully confirmed, people saw filming and one of the set guys confirmed it was for Dr Strange 2."

Teddington resident Tim Pemberton said: "Took daughter on an adventure night ride.

"Refused entry to Richmond Park at Richmond gate as security on the gate said Marvel were filming in the park tonight!"
