National Rail has announced that lines between Stratford and Richmond have reopened following a fire near the railway at Richmond station.

Earlier today (Monday, 3 November) at 12:19pm, the incident was reported affecting the London Overground service.

However, at 1:40pm, the network cleared the situation saying trains are now running "normally".

"Lines have now reopened following a fire near the railway at Richmond station. However, whilst service recovers, trains running between Stratford (London) and Richmond may be cancelled, revised or diverted," said National Rail.

Back in September there was a similar fire near the train tracks at Richmond station with services between South Acton and Richmond being affected at that time.

The incident was not reported to the London Fire Brigade.
