Richmond station fire halts London Overground services

London Overground trains between South Acton and Richmond were suspended after a fire at Richmond station (credit: South Western Railway).

London Overground services between South Acton and Richmond were suspended this afternoon (Monday, 22 September) after a fire was reported at Richmond station.

National Rail confirmed the incident at 3:43pm, with all trains between Stratford and Richmond affected. Services did not resume until 5:51pm.

National Rail said: "A fire at Richmond station means the line is closed. Trains running between South Acton and Richmond will be suspended. Disruption is expected until 17:00."

Passengers are being urged to check before they travel and allow extra time for their journeys.
