Richmond's Whole Food Store (now closed) announced in March 2024 that it could close as the company would change its UK operations.
The plans would include closing stores in Richmond and Fulham, as well as the Dartford distribution centre.

2. Residents left shocked as two homes undergoing works in Richmond collapse
Emergency services were called to Lower Mortlake Road, Richmond on 10 September 2024 after two buildings undergoing a refurb tumbled down.
Just before 3pm, two terraced homes which were in the midst of a basement refurb collapsed, seeing London Fire Brigade (LFB), Met Police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) called to the scene.

4. Counter protests outnumber far right in Hounslow as police arrest one for offensive weapon
Planned far right protest in London on 7 August 2024 were outnumbered by counter protest as more than 1,000 police officers were deployed across the capital.
Anti immigration protests were planned to take place in London towns such as Hounslow, Walthamstow, Harrow and Finchley, but counter protest and police presence took charge on the evening.

5. Thames Water Teddington Direct River Abstraction Scheme to take national planning permission route
Back in January 2024, the Government announced that Thames Water's Teddington DRA application was to follow a national planning process.
The controversial scheme would see water being taken from the Thames by Teddington Weir, transferring it through existing underground tunnels to the Lee Valley reservoirs, and then replacing it with treated wastewater from Mogden Sewage Treatment Works.
