Ted Lasso season four production begins but 'not in Richmond'

Production is officially underway for the much-anticipated fourth season of Ted Lasso, Apple TV+ confirmed on Monday 21 July.
The award-winning comedy is set to return with series favourites including co-creator and lead star Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and more.
However, fans in Richmond and across south west London may be surprised to learn that AFC Richmond will not be returning to its fictional home for the new season.
In a 19-second teaser trailer released by Apple, the streaming giant hinted that the beloved team is "not in Richmond anymore".
At the end of season three, viewers watched as Ted Lasso (Sudeikis) bid farewell to London, returning to Kansas to be closer to his ex-wife and son.
Meanwhile, Roy Kent (Goldstein) stepped into a new coaching role alongside Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt).
According to reports, the new series will begin where season three left off, with the first episode being filmed in Kansas City.
An official season four synopsis reads: "Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would."
Since its debut, Ted Lasso has been widely celebrated both in the UK and internationally.
The show has received 61 Emmy nominations, winning 13, including back-to-back trophies for Sudeikis in the Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category in 2021 and 2022.
A release date for season four is yet to be announced.
