The National Railway Heritage Trust has unveiled a new conservation plaque at Richmond station to mark restoration works.
The plaque, awarded to South Western Railway, Network Rail and Richmond Council, was revealed on Monday, 9 March to recognise the Art Deco restoration of Richmond station.
Presented by Lord Peter Hendy, Minister of State for Rail, The Railway Heritage Trust Conservation Award 2025 now sits alongside a Richmond Society Award recognising a distinguished contribution to the area.
The restoration project, which began in late 2023 and was completed in September last year, transformed the station façade, entrance canopy and ticket hall.
Following the refurbishment, the independent café and bakery Heidi opened at the station, offering a selection of drinks and award-winning pastries.
