Richmond has the lowest Covid-19 infection rate in London.

The number of new cases has fallen by around 15% in the past week, putting Richmond bottom of all 32 London boroughs for coronavirus.

Our infection rate currently stands at 82.8 cases per 100,000 people in the population.

The worst-hit London borough is currently Redbridge with 305.7 cases per 100,000 people.

It caps a remarkable turnaround for Richmond as we had the capital's highest infection rate for parts of October.

We were declared London's covid blackspot on October 5 and again on October 12.

While it is welcome news that the spread of covid is decreasing, the virus claimed six local lives over the past week and the council leader said it is "absolutely vital to keep up the good work" and continue to drive the infection rate downwards.
