Richmond deli seeks extended opening hours and alcohol licence

An independent coffee shop and grocer in Richmond has submitted an application to extend its opening hours and alcohol licence.

The Alberts Deli on Worpole Way has applied to vary its existing licence so it can sell alcohol for consumption both inside and outside the shop during extended hours: Monday to Saturday, 9am to 11pm, and Sundays until 10pm.

Currently, the shop's alcohol sales are permitted as follows:

On the premises:

  • Monday to Thursday: 12pm – 9pm
  • Friday: 12pm – 9pm
  • Saturday: 12pm – 8pm
  • Sunday: 12pm – 6pm

Off the premises:

  • Monday to Thursday: 9am – 9pm
  • Friday: 9am – 9pm
  • Saturday: 9am – 8pm
  • Sunday: 9am – 6pm

Alberts Deli also wishes to extend its general opening hours. Currently, the shop opens from Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm, Saturdays from 8am to 8pm and Sundays from 8am to 6pm

The proposed hours are:

  • Monday to Saturday: 9am – 11pm
  • Sunday: 9am – 10pm

Residents have until Tuesday, 9 September to submit feedback on the application via the Richmond Council licensing portal.

Alberts Deli has been approached for comment.
