What a year, folks.

It has been an incredibly difficult time for business and residents.

Richmond ends 2020 under the strongest civil restrictions with many of our favourite shops and cafés able to offer takeaway or click-and-collect services at best.

But the covid vaccination programme is well under way and brighter times are in sight.

On a Sunday I look back on our coverage of the week and find numerous positive stories which are always a pleasure to report.

We set up Richmond Nub News over the summer to provide a reliable local news service and reflect the best of the town.

It's no surprise that Richmond has ranked as London's happiest place six years in a row: the speed and warmth with which we have been welcomed into the community has been remarkable.

These are just a few people whose support we have counted on:

Aunty Planty aka Valerie of Richmond Talking Newspaper, Richard from Friends of Richmond Park, Barry of Richmond Society, Con and Brett and colleagues from Be Richmond, photographers Amanda Boardman, Adam Lazowski, John Royle, John Simpson, Mathanga Gangatharan and Simon Ridley, all the 'top fans' of the Richmond Nub News Facebook page, Ellie and the Richmond Council media team, Ciara and the team at Kew Gardens, N&N Richmond estate agents for their awesome Roads of Richmond series, Rory Poulter for writing so many superb stories and Morag from the Museum of Richmond.

Thank you to all of you who read our coverage and join in the conversation on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.[.b]

Merry Christmas
