Picture of the day: A bird's eye view of Richmond by Ruth Wadey

By The Editor 30th Sep 2020

We had walked along the Thames path from Twickenham to Richmond on our daily allowed walk at the start of the lockdown in March.

As we arrived - to my delight - we saw a grey heron fishing underneath Richmond Bridge.

I only had my iPhone 6s on me, but was very pleased with the result.

The reflections in the Thames balanced with the grey heron in the centre peeping through the bridge at the view of Richmond Riverside is quite delightful.

I have been an amateur photographer since my teen years when my father gave me my first camera.

I am passionate about capturing the moment which would otherwise be lost forever.

Clouds and reflections are my favourite topics but anything that grabs my attention is quickly snapped up.

My photos are regularly featured on both BBC and ITV and this is a real honour and something I never dreamed possible a few years ago.
