Free art festival returns to Richmond this May
By Catherine Sweet 8th Apr 2026
A popular arts festival will return to the borough this spring, giving residents the chance to step inside the studios of local creatives.
Arts Richmond has announced the return of its Art House Open Studios festival for 2026, with artists, designers and makers opening their homes and workspaces to the public.
The free event will take place across two weekend, 23 to 25 May and 30 to 31 May, including the spring bank holiday weekend.
Visitors will be able to explore a wide range of creative spaces across the borough, meet artists in person, and learn more about their work and processes.
Hilary Dodman, Chair of the Arts Richmond Visual Art Committee, said the charity was proud to bring the event back for another year.
"As a small charity supporting a huge range of arts and culture across the borough, we are immensely proud to be able to run this festival for another year," she said.
"This is an inclusive event which gives local people as well as visitors from further afield a chance to connect with artists themselves to browse, chat and explore."
Dodman added that the festival plays an important role at a time when arts funding in education is under pressure.
"The festival showcases the great diversity of artists working in the borough and is an inspirational opportunity to open a dialogue between artists and residents," she said.
All venues will be open 11am to 5pm daily, with some spaces also offering demonstrations and special events.
