Visitor centre shut but sales continue of beautiful calendar of Richmond Park

As well as carrying out extensive conservation work the Friends of Richmond Park runs the visitor centre in front of Pembroke Lodge.

It is open 364 days a year (closing only on Christmas Day) to provide information and sell gifts including the charity's specially designed Christmas cards and its stunning new 45-image calendar.

Their popularity was powering the visitor centre to record sales, with proceeds helping to fund the Friends' conservation work in the park.

Unfortunately, this has been halted after the centre had to close over this November lockdown.

The Friends told us: "Sadly the Pembroke Lodge Visitor Centre has had to close during this second lockdown.

"Immediately prior to lockdown, it was extremely busy achieving record sales for the brilliant new calendar and Christmas cards which are always in high demand.

"The good news is, however, that people can still buy these online at the Friends of Richmond Park shop.

"More good news is that we will be adding more seasonal products to the online shop very soon."

About Friends of Richmond Park

The charity works to protect the park's peace and natural beauty and advance the public's knowledge about it.

It funds up to three conservation projects a year; runs the visitor centre, walks and courses; coordinates volunteering; lobbies on issues such as public funding and much more. You can read more about its aims here.
