Sally Benatar awarded Queen's Police Medal in New Years Honours

Recently retired police officer Sally Benatar has been awarded the Queen's Police Medal in the New Years Honours list.

The former Chief Superintendent was the South West London commander for the Metropolitan police.

Sally was in charge of nearly 1,500 officers while in this position.

Ms Benatar was a police officer for over thirty years.

She Tweeted: "I am happy and proud to have been awarded a Queen's Police Medal in the New Years Honours.

"Its a team effort! I loved working with so many brilliant colleagues and partners in eight postings over 31 years with the met - thank you to my police family."

The medal is given to officers for distinguished service.
