Did you spot the amazing moon over Richmond last night?

According to Greenmatters, it was full moon at 10.30pm on Wednesday (December 30).

The moon appeared to be shining extra brightly and residents may have even spotted a halo around it.

This was a 'moon ring', which becomes visible when small ice crystals contained in thin cirrus clouds are tilted in the right direction to us down on Earth.

Here is a photo of it by photographer John Royle.
