Picture of the weekend: A glimpse of morning sunshine by Veevs

A glimpse of sunrise from Richmond Bridge

I walk to the riverside every morning to feed all the geese, swans, ducks, pigeons and herons. But now, in autumn, I aim to get there to see sunrise.

This time of the year is beautiful and now Richmond has gone back to being peaceful and clean after the abuse it received during summer, which was horrendous!

On Monday, after I fed all the birds the light was gorgeous and the river very still.

This is one of my favourite views of the riverside - the boats were perfectly lined up and there was a tiny hint of sunrise left. I usually take this shot from under Richmond Bridge but this time I went up as I wanted to take it from a different angle. I take all my photos with my iPhone 11 Pro and I'm an amateur photographer.

I've been photographing Richmond views for many years and specialise in sunrises and sunsets.

But this year because of lockdown my focus has been more on getting to the riverside around 6.30am and feeding the birds and also rescuing some injured ones.

I video all the birds and put them in daily stories on my Instagram account - @veevs. I'm only 10 mins walk from the riverside so I have combined my passion with exercise during lockdown.

I'm from Lima, Peru and should have been moving back home this October but my plans have had to be postponed because of Covid. So I get to enjoy more beautiful Richmond sunrises and sunsets and feed all the birds for another year!

Huge thanks to Vivi for telling us all about her photography, daily routine and appreciation of autumnal Richmond.
