Long-awaited new shop opens in Richmond town centre

A new shop has opened in Richmond town centre.

Clothes shop Aqua is now trading in the store formerly occupied by Topshop and Topman.

It sells women's and men's clothes and shoes at low prices. One rack sells a variety of tops for just £5.

The store will be at 53/54 George Street for an initial 12 months and will see how trade is before deciding on its long-term future.

It was originally meant to open on September 1 and the identity of the new store remained a mystery until it finally opened its doors as Aqua last week.

An electronics shop opened on a similar 12-month basis in the former Superdrug store in George St last month.
