Shop misses second opening date and remains empty

The new shop taking over Richmond's former Topshop store has missed its opening date - for a second time.

A message in the window of the store in George Street says: "See you all again on the 1st September".

The 1st was scratched out and replaced with a 6th.

But at the time of writing on Sunday, September 6, the shop was not open.

Indeed, the inside of the shop was empty and looked a long way away from completion.

The notice reads: "Apologies for the inconvenience.

"This store will be closed for two weeks while we carry out some works internally.

"We hope this will make your shopping experience more enjoyable when we return.

"See you all again on the 6th September."

The identity of the new shop also remains a mystery.

Topshop says it has permanently closed and those involved with the refit have been tight-lipped when asked what the store will be by Richmond Nub News.
