The tree which split and crashed onto parked cars in Richmond Park is being removed today.

Its trunk splintered and half of the large tree fell onto the vehicles which were parked in the car park near Kingston Gate.

The incident happened shortly after noon yesterday (Wednesday, September 23).

Kingston Gate car park will be half closed today as a result, Royal Parks Police said.

"Please be aware that half of Kingston Gate car park will be closed (24/9/20) so that the rest of the tree can be removed," the force said.
