Anneli will discuss theories of moral responsibility and I defend the importance of the consequences of our practices of holding each other responsible for justifying blame and praise.
Anneli Jefferson is Senior Lecturer in Philosophy, Cardiff University, UK. Her main research areas are moral philosophy and philosophy of psychology and psychiatry. She is especially interested in the in the intersection of these areas, for example in questions relating to moral psychology or the relationship between mental illness and moral responsibility. Recent publications include her monograph Are Mental Disorders Brain Disorders? Routledge 2022, 'Blaming the Dead' European Journal of Philosophy 2024 , and ''Terminal Anorexia, Treatment Refusal and Decision Making Capacity' Cambridge Quarterly of Healthcare Ethics 2024.
