All car parks hit capacity by 10.45am today (Saturday, November 7), there was "gridlock" in Roehampton and motorists were being rejected from entering the park at Richmond Gate.

It was a day like no other in Richmond Park with seemingly unprecedented numbers of people flocking to visit.
As we reported, car parks were full and there was gridlock on surrounding roads and motorists queued to get inside our stunning Royal park.
It's the first weekend of a four-week lockdown.
Richmond town centre is quieter than usual without the hustle and bustle generated around pubs, which have mostly all closed their doors.

Some Richmond schools have been ignoring requirements to book and pay for the use of the borough's parks for sports activities, prompting the council to design a new "clear and coherent" policy.
The issue was discussed at Tuesday's Environment, Sustainability, Sport and Culture committee (Tuesday, November 3).
