It's not a sign of weakness to ask for help a lot

Breast Cancer awareness month runs in October and we have teamed up with Richmond-based psychotherapist and cancer counsellor Karin Sieger to do just that: raise awareness and increase understanding of the disease. In this article Karin explains how cancer can affect you as a relative or friend of some with cancer.

When someone is diagnosed with cancer, relatives and friends are often the forgotten ones. If that is you, then you will know, that you are also affected by the disease and may require help to cope. But you may also think, that you are not as deserving or as important as the person with cancer.

Councils and communities around the country are stepping up to ensure children are fed when school breaks up

Following the announcement that the government will not be offering a school meal voucher scheme over October half-term, both Richmond Council and Kingston Council have announced that they are going to offer a half-term food support package for vulnerable children, meaning that children from the lowest income families don't go hungry over the school break.

Guidance will be launched soon by both councils to let eligible families know how they can collect their vouchers.
