In this half day workshop, professional bookbinder and experienced teacher Mylyn McColl will guide you through the fundamentals of basic box making.

During the class, Mylyn will teach you all the skills needed to create a lift off lid style box, covered in beautiful decorative paper. Ideal for storing your books, pencils and treasures, it also makes a fabulous handmade present – if you can bear to part with it!

The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some prior experience of bookbinding.

All materials and tools are provided, including a great range of different decorative papers to choose from, ensuring that your finished box is totally unique.

Tapestry Making Workshop - Saturday 16 September:

In this full day course held in the lovely studio at United Response, Teddington, Hilary will teach you all the skills necessary to produce your own woven designs. Using a simple frame loom and a variety of yarns, you'll spend the day learning how to weave a sampler of techniques, both traditional and 3D.

All materials, including loom and yarns, are included, so you'll be able to continue practising at home on your loom.

The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with some prior experience of tapestry weaving. You'll be able to work on a sampler of techniques or, if you've attended a class before, why not create your own design?

Tea, coffee and cake will be provided throughout the day and there will be a break for lunch, when you can either eat a packed lunch or treat yourself at one of the many cafes in Teddington.
