A group of Travellers have set up camp on Richmond Green.

It was reported by local residents on social that a group of Travellers set up camp on Richmond Green last night (13 September).

The camp consists of over 20 caravans and is set up around the outskirts of the green.

Richmond Council have released a statement saying: "We are aware that a group of Travellers arrived on Richmond Green last night.

"Unauthorised encampments breach our Public Space Protection Orders which prohibit unauthorised access and camping on our open spaces. We have started the welfare checks and legal process, and are working with the police to move them on as soon as possible."

Richmond Nub News has contacted the council for further comment.
