Richmond Green
Saturday, May 13 – Richmond May Fair
The Richmond May Fair celebrates its 53rd Anniversary, after having to miss three years because of the pandemic and its aftermath.
From a few stalls around the Parish Church of St Mary Magdalene, the May Fair has grown to be Richmond Borough's major charity fundraising event. As well as hundreds of charity stalls filling the Green, a thriving Craft Fair takes place in the main marquee and there is entertainment all day on stage and around the Green.
On the eve of the Fair, Friday, May 12, the Richmond May Ball is once more to be held In the glamorous main marquee on The Green.
And on Sunday, May 14, the main marquee is the venue for Arts Richmond's Book Picnic.
The Mitre - Philip Dexter
Singing all of your favourite covers from the 60's right up to today's charts! Phil loves to take requests, adding his own unique twist with distinctive locals that has drawn comparisons to Kelly Jones (Stereophonics) and even Rod Stewart. It's a great way to enjoy the classic in an intimate venue.

Thursday, May 11 – An Evening with Anton and Friends
Strictly Come Dancing legend and judge, Anton Du Beke, takes to the stage with his show in 2023.
With his live band, a guest singer and his dancers, expect a fab-u-lous evening of song, dance and laughter.
Anton will be performing some of his favourite songs and dances that have inspired his career throughout his life. Expect behind the scenes stories from his time on Strictly that will have you laughing out loud.

May 16 -20 – Around the World in 80 Days
Join a raggle-taggle band of travelling circus performers as they embark on their most daring feat yet: to recreate the adventures of Phileas Fogg as he sets off on his race around the world.
But wait...who is this Nellie Bly biting at his heels? We can't have an actual- real - life woman win this race!
Sit back and enjoy as our skilled performers traverse every country, embrace each character, and navigate each mode of transport as fact clashes with fiction in this madcap adventure around the globe.

Until June 17 – The Circle by Somerset Maugham
Jane Asher plays Lady Kitty, a society beauty who notoriously abandoned her stuffy husband Clive (Clive Francis) and eloped with the handsome Lord Porteous (Nicholas Le Prevost).
Thirty years later, love's young dream has descended into non-stop squabbling.
Meanwhile, Clive and Lady Kitty's son Arnold (Pete Ashmore) faces the same marital fate, as his wife Elizabeth (Olivia Vinall) threatens to elope with the dashing Teddie Luton (Chirag Benedict Lobo).
Will history come full circle? Or can one generation learn from their parents' disastrous mistakes?
Somerset Maugham's sparky comedy of manners was first staged in 1921 and has remained a firm favourite with audiences ever since.
One Kew Road, Richmond
Sunday, May 14 – Brandon Allen Groove Band
Off the Rails present live jazz every second Sunday of each month upstairs at One Kew Road bar/restaurant, directly opposite Richmond Station.
Club managers Peter Jones and Clement Regert are both working musicians, and are also heavily involved in the annual High Tide Festival in Twickenham, where they program the jazz stage.
Their policy is to promote young, diverse musicians playing original music.
OSO Arts Centre, Barnes
Friday, May 12 – OSO Comedy Stage: Huge Davies & Eleanor Tiernan
Huge Davies is one the most unique acts in the UK. He's appeared on his own sitcom The Artists (Channel 4), Harry Hill's Clubnite, and The Now Show (BBC Radio 4).
Eleanor Tiernan is an Irish stand-up comedian, writer and actress. She has featured on Stand Up For Live Comedy (BBC3), The Alternative Comedy Experience (Comedy Central) and News Quiz (BBC Radio 4).

Sunday, May 14 – Comedy Club for Kids
Since 2005 the Comedy Club 4 Kids has been getting the best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit to do their thing for children (aged 6+) and their families… but without the rude bits!
It's just like a normal comedy club, but it's on in the day, kids are allowed in, and thus there is an abnormally high chance of the entire audience claiming to be called Bob.

May 16-19 – My Brilliant Divorce
Nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment, My Brilliant Divorce is a splendidly observed one-woman play.
Middle-aged Angela attempts to find a new life when husband Max leaves her for a younger woman. Using a wonderful mixture of comedy and pathos, she recounts her journey through divorce, middle-aged loneliness, being an empty nester and coming out the other side laughing.

Saturday, May 13 – Mayor's Summer Jazz Garden Party
Join the Mayor for a Summer Jazz Garden Party in the beautiful gardens of Trumpeters house, Richmond.

Saturday, May 13 - Barnes Children's Literature Festival Kids' Book Club
The fun monthly kids' book club continues with the Blue Peter Book Prize winner Vashti Hardy and her fantastical skyship adventure, Brightstorm.
Arthur and Maudie Brightstorm receive devastating news: their famous explorer father has died in a failed attempt to reach South Polaris. To make matters worse, the Lontown Geographical Society finds Ernest Brightstorm guilty of sabotaging the expedition of his competitor.

Thursday, May 11 - Robin Bibi Big Band + Thomas Heppell
Robin Bibi can only be described as a true "Legend" in his own right. With a stellar CV which includes playing with such legendary artists as the Pretty Things , Robert Plant , Jimmy Page and Ben E. King to name just a few .
When he is on stage....and off....he just has a crowd eating out the palms of his hands....or should it be hanging on to every riff he plays!. One of the great musicians we are blessed to see perform all around the UK and Europe.. Robin is also well know to the Eel Pie Club audience as a member of the Eel Pie Allstars.
Twickenham Stadium
Saturday, May 13 - Army vs Navy
The Army V Navy Senior Men's game has been played at Twickenham since 1920.
Last year saw the start of a new tradition with the Senior Women's match also being played at this historic location for the first time. Women's rugby continues to grow in popularity and ticket-holders will be able to witness the skill and expertise that comes with that growth at first hand once again this year.
There is a dedicated alcohol-free family zone featuring some great activities.

Tuesday, May 16 – Richmond Film Society - Screening of 'Beanpole' (Russia)
Beanpole, a period drama set in Leningrad in the immediate aftermath of World War II, explores the trauma inflicted on the populace, including on Iya and Masha, two young women who are seeking to rebuild their lives.
The result is a deeply empathetic character study and a powerful and moving film, with quite exceptional cinematography.
The film will be introduced by Dr Jon Hackett, Associate Professor of Film and Communications at St Mary's University.

Until May 14 – Beyond Reason: Judith North & Kate Proudman
Beyond Reason introduces a new series of oil paintings, watercolour sketches and 3D work by Judith North and Kate Proudman.
The work of these two artists gives us an insight into their shared processes. Evidence of the frequent removal, reapplying and layering of paint implies an attitude to process which centres on a sense of time passing.

Ted Lasso Tour runs Saturday and Sunday at 3.30pm; Thursday at 6.30pm
Explore the locations featured in the hit Apple TV streaming show, Ted Lasso, starring Jason Sudeikis, which made its Season Three return to the screen this week. The walking tour takes in Ted's local pub, front door and even his thinking bench!

James 'Jimmy' Peters was the first black man to ever play rugby union for England, overcoming hardships, setbacks and intolerance in the process to proudly represent his nation.

Eel Pie Island Museum – Richmond Road
To mark the 35th anniversary of Black History Month in the UK, the museum is hosting a celebration of Black culture and shines a light on some of the many inspiring people of African and Afro-Caribbean heritage in Richmond, who have made the borough a richer, more vibrant place.
From jazz to reggae, this exploration of Black musicians is not simply Black history but Richmond's history. By learning about our culturally diverse past and traditionally unheard voices, we can look forward to the next exciting chapter together.
