Told with deceptive simplicity, it is the kind of book that reminds us of the power of storytelling.
The Beekeeper of Aleppo is an intimate look at the lives of one couple, Afra, a woman and artist blinded by an explosion, and her beekeeper husband Nuri as the couple escape Syria for, eventually, the UK.

Sunday, May 7 - Paul Young - Behind The Lens
Paul Young broke into the big time 40 years ago when No Parlez went to number one and spawned iconic hits like Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home).
More success followed with the number one album The Secret Of Association and the worldwide hit Everytime You Go Away, not forgetting an appearance at Live Aid and more. Paul sustained that success – while having fun in his tex-mex band, Los Pacaminos.
Now, on the 40th anniversary of No Parlez, he's releasing a remarkable new record and publishing his extraordinary memoir; both called Behind The Lens. He's touring the UK, too, where he'll meet fans, sing hits and tell stories about his incredible career.
It's time to revel in the classic hits and learn the stories behind them as Paul steps out from Behind The Lens.

Thursday, May 11 – An Evening with Anton and Friends
Strictly Come Dancing legend and judge, Anton Du Beke, takes to the stage with his show in 2023.
With his live band, a guest singer and his dancers, expect a fab-u-lous evening of song, dance and laughter.
Anton will be performing some of his favourite songs and dances that have inspired his career throughout his life. Expect behind the scenes stories from his time on Strictly that will have you laughing out loud.

Jane Asher plays Lady Kitty, a society beauty who notoriously abandoned her stuffy husband Clive (Clive Francis) and eloped with the handsome Lord Porteous (Nicholas Le Prevost).
Thirty years later, love's young dream has descended into non-stop squabbling.
Meanwhile, Clive and Lady Kitty's son Arnold (Pete Ashmore) faces the same marital fate, as his wife Elizabeth (Olivia Vinall) threatens to elope with the dashing Teddie Luton (Chirag Benedict Lobo).

Somerset Maugham's sparky comedy of manners was first staged in 1921 and has remained a firm favourite with audiences ever since.

Finlay and Joe are proud to present Perpetual Hype Machine, a formidable high-tech device they have precision-engineered to generate the perfect sketch comedy show with every performance.
However, this is just the prototype, so there might be a couple of tweaks they need to make along the way. The machine's not evil, though. That would be bad.

Sofia Kirwan-Baez (vocals) is once again joined by her team of musical maestros in this new cabaret-infused, request-based piano lounge soiree! Expect the unexpected, whether it's Billy Joel, Gershwin, Joni Mitchell, Britney Spears or Coldplay...or even Puccini!
Currently at the Royal College of Music's Opera Studio, Sofia can be spotted either in hazy jazz clubs or on operatic stages.

The Ealing Club was Britain's first dedicated electric Blues club and is acknowledged as the catalyst which sparked British Rock music.
The gig is inspired by the musicians associated with the Ealing music scene of the 1960s: The Rolling Stones, The Who, Manfred Mann, Alexis Korner and Cyril Davies, Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, Mitch Mitchell to name a few.

Beyond Reason introduces a new series of oil paintings, watercolour sketches and 3D work by Judith North and Kate Proudman.
The work of these two artists gives us an insight into their shared processes. Evidence of the frequent removal, reapplying and layering of paint implies an attitude to process which centres on a sense of time passing.

Eel Pie Island Museum – Richmond Road
To mark the 35th anniversary of Black History Month in the UK, the museum is hosting a celebration of Black culture and shines a light on some of the many inspiring people of African and Afro-Caribbean heritage in Richmond, who have made the borough a richer, more vibrant place.
From jazz to reggae, this exploration of Black musicians is not simply Black history but Richmond's history. By learning about our culturally diverse past and traditionally unheard voices, we can look forward to the next exciting chapter together.
