As more and more events are being organised locally Nub News is launching a new weekly round-up of what's on in Richmond each weekend.

Every Thursday we will now bring you our top picks of the events in our town for the coming weekend.

Cinderella – Richmond Theatre

The traditional panto, starring Anton Du Beke, begins its fun-packed run tomorrow – Friday – night.

Tickets are selling fast and remember there will be no performance on Saturdays because Anton's duties with Strictly Come Dancing will take him away from the show.

Cinderella features spectacular dance routines, led by Anton's Buttons character, along with laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning scenery, beautiful costumes and plenty of boos and hisses.

Join Cinders as she goes from rags to riches, outwits her very ugly sisters and meets her dashing Prince Charming.

Be aware that all attendees over 18 have to provide proof of their Covid-19 status, such as proof of vaccination via the NHS app.

Kew Sparkle and Kew Christmas market

The annual community Kew Sparkle event is back with a wide variety of food, drink and craft stalls, Santa's Grotto, funfair rides and live entertainment.

The event, including the switch-on of the Kew Village Lights, takes place from 5pm through to 8pm on Friday.

And on Sunday, the Kew Village Market will be full of festive spirit, bustling with 45 colourful stalls selling the finest food and hand-made crafts and cards by local artists.

There will be live music throughout with the St Margarets Elastic Band bringing their big-band swing to songbook show tunes and a special Christmas choir.

Kitson Hall, Barnes – Mother Swan

In the town of Barnes-Billville, Mother Swan and her son Silly Billy are down on their luck. Practically penniless, a golden spell makes them EGG-straordinarilly rich!

However, the evil demon 'Priti Snyde' desires nothing more than to bring mankind to its knees. All she needs to succeed is to turn a pure human soul to a life of sin and greed.

Orange Tree Theatre

Terence Rattigan's While the Sun Shines, which is one of the most successful productions in Orange Tree history, returns to the theatre.

First performed in 1943, the rollicking comedy takes the audience through the complex liaisons of the young Earl of Harpenden and his long-standing fiancée. Complications are caused by the arrival of two rival suitors - an American airman and a Free French officer - Harpenden's prospective father-in-law and an old girlfriend.
