Update from emergency services on Sunday collision

Two people were freed from their cars by firefighters after a collision yesterday in Twickenham.

It happened on London Road before 1pm on Sunday, August 23.

The road was closed and four buses had to be diverted.

As many as 10 emergency service vehicles attended the scene, witnesses told us.

A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: "Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on London Road at the junction of Railway Approach in Twickenham on Sunday.

"Two cars were in collision. Firefighters released two people who were trapped in their vehicles. They were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

"The brigade was called at 1252 and the incident was over for firefighters by 1340.

"Two fire engines from Twickenham Fire Station and a fire rescue unit from Heston Fire Station attended."
