Twickenham Rowing Club (TwRC) has announced the return of the Twickenham Rowing Regatta 2026 next month.

The course, set on the Surrey bank of the River Thames, gives competitors and spectators alike boats race from the River Lane Boating Area toward Eel Pie Island and the finish line at Ham Street Car Park on Saturday, 23 May 2026.

Organisers say the 850 metre course length creates competitive races from start to finish.

Additionally, regatta competitors will enjoy the water along the two-lane racing course thanks to a wide stretch of the river and minimal traffic from other watercraft.

Residents from Twickenham and across London are invited to watch all race events in person for free.

The regatta is open to all ages and no tickets are required to attend.

Walking paths along both banks of the river will offer views of the race course, with multiple clearings in Petersham along the Surrey side providing viewing areas.

President of the Twickenham Regatta, Paul Davis, said: "This event is only possible through the cooperation and goodwill of everyone involved, and it's always a pleasure to see crews, coaches and officials come together so seamlessly.

"Just as importantly, it's a wonderful day out - bringing together rowing clubs, supporters and the wider public in a great, long-held tradition here at our beautiful club."

Near the race finish line by the official Twickenham Regatta grounds at Ham Street Car Park, competitors and spectators can enjoy food, drink and official TwRC merchandise.

In 2025, the 102nd Twickenham Regatta welcomed more than 20 clubs from across London and the UK, competing in 180 individual races in 40 events.
