Swim school is back at Pools on the Park

Swim school pupils got back into the water at Pools on the Park in Richmond this week.

The leisure centre said it was phasing lessons back in so that it can maintain a safe and controlled environment.

The swim school has only just returned for existing pupils who are "competent" swimmers, with groups lessons to follow after this month's half-term. Pools on the Park hopes to open the scheme up to new members in January.

General admissions to the pool and leisure centre are currently on a pay-as-you-go basis and you can find out how to book a session here.

Full statement from the leisure centre

We will be starting to slowly reintroduce our swim school back to Teddington Pools & Fitness Centre and Pools on the Park (Richmond). This will be a phased approach to ensure it is done in the safest possible way for everyone involved.

Initially we are planning to start introducing private lessons to existing, competent pupils to the main pools from October 5.

The aim is then to introduce group lessons after the October half-term.

However, this will depend on whether more restrictions are brought in over the next few weeks and how the private lessons return to site.

Please be aware that there will be lots of changes required due to current Swim England restrictions, so please bear with us during this time.

As soon as we have more information or confirmed dates we will update all swim school pupils.

At this point we will not be accepting new pupils into our swim school including for private lessons, but we hope to start this from January 2021.
