Local gym Foundry Richmond in Orchard Road, has recently announced that it will be expanding to a new site in the capital and welcoming new talent.

Located next to the big Sainsbury's just outside town, Foundry Richmond is gearing up for a new chapter after closing its third investment round since 2022.

The investment will see the gym expand significantly throughout 2024 with a 'strong pipeline of opportunities and opening new sites.'

Foundry is rebranding a profitable gym in a thriving commuter town and gearing up to launch a new spot in the heart of the City of London - Foundry Aldgate.

The gym says the broader fitness industry is on the upswing, and its 'unique' business model has drawn in new, experienced investors while retaining backing from existing ones.

Under Co-Founder and Managing Director, Jean-Claude Vacassin, Foundry has been successful with seven locations across London (including Richmond) and South East since acquiring W10 in 2022.

Vacassin says: "We're really excited about this next step. Over a decade ago, we set out to reinvent what it means to be a gym: an inclusive, customer-centric experience focused on helping our members thrive – this mission remains our guiding principle."

As part of the company's growth Foundry has brought in Rob Foreman, a private equity veteran with 20 years of experience, who joins as an investor and will take on the role of Chairman.

Foundry says Foreman is known for his ability to drive growth and his expertise will be key to Foundry's future success.

"Foundry's commitment to a culture of excellence sets it apart in a market where demand for quality, personalised, and convenient training is on the rise.

"The team, the business model, and the performance metrics attracted me to this opportunity, and I'm excited to help grow the brand," admits Foreman.

Joining him is Steph McCall, the new Finance Director, who brings a 'wealth' of experience from her time at The Gym Group and in broadcasting. She'll also be joining the Board of Directors, adding her strategic insight to the team.
