Outstanding GCSE and A-Level results at Kew House School

Kew House School is celebrating this summer's examination results, with pupils achieving impressive outcomes at both A Level and GCSE, securing places at leading universities, on national apprenticeships and progressing into Sixth Form.

The Kew-based school recorded 37% of GCSE grades at 8–9, while 57% were graded 7–9.

The school also reported a 97% overall GCSE pass rate, with a +0.71 value added score showing the progress pupils made beyond expectations.

Among the individual results, Josh achieved nine 9s and one 8, giving him an average grade of 8.9.

Rachel achieved four 9s and four 8s and will return to Kew House Sixth Form in September.

Yaa and Shio achieved a combined total of ten 9s, eight 8s and two 7s, with an average grade of 8.4 between them.

Chloe A achieved seven 9s, two 8s and one 7 and will also continue her studies at Kew House Sixth Form.

Henry will instead begin an apprenticeship with Transport for London.

Ms Siobhan Milgate, Head of Key Stage 4, said: "Adaptability is the word that comes to mind when I think about this Year 11 group. They have faced a particularly challenging couple of years, but I have been so impressed by the way they have come together, knuckled down and kept going.

"These results are a reflection of that determination and I hope every one of them feels incredibly proud of what they has achieved."

At A Level results day last week, 39% of grades were A*–A, while 68% were A*–B.

The school recorded a 100% A Level pass rate, with 70% of pupils securing their first-choice destination.

Some 91% of Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) grades were A*–B, including 60% at A*–A.

All BTEC students achieved either a Distinction or Merit.

Overall, 84% of leavers achieved their preferred university offers, with the University of Bristol the most popular destination for the second consecutive year, with eight acceptances.

Pupils also secured places at universities including Imperial, Bath, Durham, Edinburgh, Exeter, Loughborough, Manchester and University College London (UCL).

Courses chosen by pupils included Medicine, PPE, Law, Economics, Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, English Literature, Politics and International Relations, Environmental Geoscience, Animation, Geography, History, Computer Science, Physics and Biochemistry.

Jack achieved A* A* A B and will study Computer Science at Durham University.

Izzy achieved A A A, alongside an A in her EPQ, and will study Medicine at the University of Bristol, while Hannah will study Marketing at Newcastle University.

Tallulah achieved A* A A and will study Economics and Politics at the University of Bristol.

Head Girl Katie achieved three A* grades and an A* in her EPQ and will continue her studies at the University of Edinburgh.

Anushka also achieved three A* grades and an A* in her EPQ and will study English Literature at Durham University.

The results also marked a family milestone for the school, with Kew House Head Boy Jake achieving three A grades and securing a place at the University of Bristol to study Biochemistry.

His younger brother Josh, meanwhile, achieved his nine 9s and one 8 at GCSE and will remain at Kew House for Sixth Form.

Head of Kew House School Mr Will Williams said: "Go into the world with curiosity to learn, adaptability to your surroundings, originality in your thinking and ambition for what you can achieve. The future is yours to shape."

The school said the results reflected pupils taking a range of different routes, including university, Sixth Form and apprenticeships.
