Students at secondary schools across Richmond are receiving their GCSE results today (Thursday, 20 August).

The results will determine what sixth forms, colleges and apprenticeships pupils go on to enrol at.

Kew House School

Kew House School is celebrating its GCSE pupils achieving "impressive outcomes", securing places at national apprenticeships and progressing into Sixth Form.

The Kew-based school recorded 37% of GCSE grades at 8–9, while 57% were graded 7–9.

The school also reported a 97% overall GCSE pass rate, with a +0.71 value added score showing the progress pupils made beyond expectations.

Among the individual results, Josh achieved nine 9s and one 8, giving him an average grade of 8.9.

Rachel achieved four 9s and four 8s and will return to Kew House Sixth Form in September.

Yaa and Shio achieved a combined total of ten 9s, eight 8s and two 7s, with an average grade of 8.4 between them.

Chloe A achieved seven 9s, two 8s and one 7 and will also continue her studies at Kew House Sixth Form.

Henry will instead begin an apprenticeship with Transport for London.

Ms Siobhan Milgate, Head of Key Stage 4, said: "Adaptability is the word that comes to mind when I think about this Year 11 group.

"They have faced a particularly challenging couple of years, but I have been so impressed by the way they have come together, knuckled down and kept going.

"These results are a reflection of that determination and I hope every one of them feels incredibly proud of what they has achieved."

Christ's School

Christ's School said it is celebrating another year of "exceptional" GCSE results, with Year 11 students demonstrating "inspiring resilience, determination, and focus to secure outstanding grades."

Standouts:

• Freja: Earned an extraordinary grade profile composed entirely of top Grades 9 and 8 across all nine of her subjects, including eight Grade 9s.
• Onur: Secured a remarkable sweep of top marks, combining multiple Grade 9s with Level 2 Distinction* honours.
• Matilda: Demonstrated exceptional tenacity, earning high-level Grades 9 and 8 across her full academic profile.
• Eden & Robert: Both recorded standout individual results, earning top Grade 9s alongside Level 2 Distinction* awards in technical and academic qualifications.

Headteacher Helen Dixon praised the cohort's perseverance, noting their results are a "true testament to the remarkable hard work and determination" shown throughout their studies, laying "strong foundations to thrive in Sixth Form and beyond."

Similarly, Senior Deputy Headteacher Alice Buchanan highlighted the breadth of achievement, adding that seeing two-thirds of students secure strong core passes reflects a commitment to "nurturing ambitious, resilient learners who rise to every academic challenge."
