Kew House School pupils praised for resilience and top grades at GCSE results day

Kew House School has celebrated another year of GCSE success, with results that it says reflect its ethos of "Together We Grow."
A third of all results were the very highest 8 and 9 grades (equivalent to A*), with standout achievements in the sciences: 77% of Physics, 71% of Chemistry, 70% of Further Maths and 58% of Biology entries were graded 8–9.
The school also highlighted its Value Added score, showing that pupils achieved on average half a grade higher than predicted across all of their subjects.

Among the many inspiring student stories this year was that of Rhys Mason, who overcame a serious ski accident in December 2024 which left him unable to attend school for several weeks.
Despite missing mock exams and facing a difficult recovery, Rhys balanced rehabilitation with his GCSE preparation.
Rhys said: "The school helped me so much by not pushing me, telling me to take my time and supporting me with the mental side of things — and that is so important."

Headteacher Will Williams praised both the academic achievements and the resilience of pupils: "These results are more than numbers on a page — they represent years of hard work, character, and the spirit of Together We Grow.
"We are enormously proud of every pupil for their achievements, not only for their academic success but for the resilience, kindness and teamwork they've shown along the way."
As pupils prepare for their next steps, the school said it was confident the values nurtured at Kew House will continue to guide them to future success.
