Ordnance from the Second World War was found this afternoon on East Sheen Common.

Police attended and enforced a cordon. It was lifted just two hours later after specialist officers attended the scene.

Richmond Police said: "We were called at 12.20pm on February 27 to reports of a WWII ordnance found on East Sheen Common.

"Cordons were put in place and the ordnance has been removed by specialist officers. All cordons now lifted.

"We thank residents for their patience while this incident was dealt with."
